This fall, the Rockville MIT Enterprise Forum is offering a series of events that focus on the tools companies need to grow in challenging times. The first event, "Growing Strategically Through Jobs, Contracting, and Outsourcing", will happen on October 19 at the Rockville Johns Hopkins University campus. This event is designed to help companies understand the ins-and-outs of building capacity using the full range of human resource options.
The MIT Enterprise Forum of Washington DC & Baltimore plans three-way interactive events between startup company CEOs in technology, investor/experts and an audience of like minded members of the community in the Greater Washington DC, Baltimore and Bethesda/Rockville Maryland areas.
On April 26th, MITEF hosted a unique event: "Edupreneurship: Entrepreneurship in Education" at the NRECA Conference Center in Ballston, VA. The event was a huge success. A packed crowd of 90 attended the event, confirming both the growing interest in innovation in the education sector, and the strong network and resources in the Washington, DC region.
Every year around this time (July-September), the MIT Enterprise Forum of DC and Baltimore (MITEF) grows its volunteer team and plans its activities for the year. In September, the Forum will restart its monthly programs. This year, the MITEF is planning an exciting variety of monthly entrepreneur training and and mentorship programs in the greater Washington, DC, Baltimore and Rockville areas including "Talk with the Angels" , "Start-Up Lab" , the "Annual Business Plan Competition" among others.
ARE RECRUITING for the following volunteer positions & WE WILL
WRITE RECOMMENDATIONS for those who need and merit them at the end of
the year. The duties will be described and co-created with those who
are interested. Anyone who fills these positions will be expected to
attend the monthly meeting in the Washington, DC area:
All Volunteers must become members ($100.00 annual fee)
Like any organization, we are only as good as the people we are made of. With the new season getting underway, we will be looking to fill a few positions that have opened up, as some boardmembers have reached emeritus status and are rolling off. They are still with the forum, but have earned a 1 year hiatus. You can email the chair via the mitef.org website, or come to an event and talk with one of the board members (they wear a red ribbon). The next one will be in Ballston on September 22nd.
