ASK THE EXPERTS: Cybersecurity for Start-ups and Small Businesses
December 6 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Ask the Experts-Meet Your Peers about cybersecurity for small business and start-ups.
The first part of the evening will be a panel of experienced cybersecurity experts discussing general cybersecurity concerns and strategies for start-ups and small businesses. The second part consists of breakout sessions where attendees discuss their actual problems with their peers and the panelists.
Breakout sessions will be covered by Chatham House Rules, where participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed. Attendees are encouraged to submit non-identifying questions when they sign up for the event. These will help focus the breakout sessions.
There may be a wide range of topics that could be discussed: email best practices, ransomware, NIST CSF, working with the government and NIST 800-171, cloud security, local GDPR considerations, two factor options, Office 365 best practices, etc. Both the networking sessions and breakout sessions should be an excellent way for those tasked with providing information security at very small firms to create a network of peers. This network could help improve cybersecurity at these resource challenged firms by improved access to knowledge about what works and what doesn’t.
We will be serving pizza and soft drinks, but no alcohol at this event.
